What is GRI?
GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) is an international reporting framework developed to help organizations measure, manage, and transparently share their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impacts with their stakeholders.
GRI Standards are the world's most widely used sustainability reporting standard and enable companies to achieve global compliance in terms of sustainable growth, investor trust, and reputation management.
Why Should You Report with GRI?
1️⃣ Stakeholder Trust and Transparency
You gain credibility with investors, customers, employees, and public institutions. A GRI report clearly reveals your company's sustainability goals, risks, and performance.
2️⃣ ESG Investor-Compliant Visibility
GRI reporting highlights your organization in ESG indices and green finance assessments.
Banks and funders perceive organizations with GRI reporting as lower risk.
3️⃣ Legal and Global Compliance
The TSRS-1 and TSRS-2 standards, which entered into force in Turkey, are fully compatible with GRI.
This means that companies preparing GRI reports automatically comply with the Turkish Sustainability Reporting Standards.
4️⃣ Competitive Advantage
Your corporate reputation is strengthened, and you gain the reputation of a "responsible company" in the eyes of customers and investors.
1️⃣ Current Situation Analysis
The company's sustainability maturity level is assessed.
Stakeholder analysis (stakeholder mapping) is conducted.
ESG data collection processes are analyzed.
2️⃣ Determination of Material Topics
Material topics (energy, water, carbon, occupational health, ethics, supply chain, etc.) are determined according to the GRI 3: Material Topics 2021 standard.
Stakeholder expectations and risk impacts are mapped.
3️⃣ Data Collection and Performance Indicators
Data is collected under GRI 301–308 (Environment), GRI 401–419 (Social), and GRI 2 (General).
Metrics such as energy consumption, carbon emissions, water use, waste volume, female employee ratio, and occupational health indicators are determined.
4️⃣ Reporting and Visual Design
A GRI-compliant sustainability report is prepared.
A content layout (GRI Index table, indicator mapping) conforming to the GRI format is created.
A professional design supported by graphics, data cards, and infographics is provided.
5️⃣ Independent Verification and Publication
The independent verification process (limited assurance) of the report is organized.
The report is uploaded to the GRI Disclosure Database for global visibility.
